Grilled Pork Skewer - Thịt xiên nướng

  • Soak the bamboo skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to avoid them from catching fire when putting on the grill.
  • Use pork with some fat like pork shoulder or neck, so it won't get too dry when grilled. If you don't eat pork, you can use chicken instead.
  • Marinate the pork with garlc, shallot, lemongrass, sesame seeds, sesame oil, sugar, pepper, oyster sauce, fish sauce and caramel sauce. Mix well and leave to marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight in the fridge.
  • Thread the meat and the colorful vegetables alternately onto the skewers. You can mix the remaining vegetables with the left-over marinade and make some vegetable skewers. You can also keep the left-over marinade to brush on the skewers while grilling.
