Recipe Testing and Vietnamese Reception

In “Vegan Vietnamese,” you can trust that every recipe has undergone rigorous testing. I personally tested each dish multiple times, and hundreds of my dedicated audience on social media joined in the culinary journey, providing valuable feedback and achieving outstanding results.

Moreover, I’m thrilled to share that a Vietnamese version of the book, titled “Món Chay Bếp Nhà,” was published in my home country in 2022. It has been warmly embraced by local Vietnamese readers, who have showered it with praise and appreciation. The overwhelming response led to the book being reprinted within 6 months, reflecting its popularity and the satisfaction it brought to readers.

It’s important to note that while “Món Chay Bếp Nhà” and “Vegan Vietnamese” share some overlapping recipes, they are two distinct books. “Vegan Vietnamese” caters to foreign audiences, providing explanations, cooking guidance, and ingredient sourcing for international readers. The book also boasts professionally captured photographs by Detas Studio showcasing each dish with meticulous attention to detail. The stunning visuals align with traditional Vietnamese aesthetics, captivating readers with vibrant colors, textures, and flavors.

Author's story

“Vegan Vietnamese” is a cookbook born out of my love for Vietnamese cuisine and my YouTube channel, Helen’s Recipes. Recognizing the demand for vegetarian and vegan recipes, I embarked on a mission to create plant-based versions of beloved Vietnamese dishes. The book offers authentic flavors from the Northern, Central, and Southern regions of Vietnam while catering to diverse dietary choices. With a goal to make each dish indistinguishable from its non-vegan counterpart, I hope to inspire and guide readers on a flavorful journey into the world of Vegan Vietnamese cuisine, expanding the options for plant-based meals with delicious and authentic recipes.

Plant-Based Vietnamese Cooking Takes Center Stage in This New Cookbook by epicurious

If you’ve ever thought of “vegan” as being sterile and unappetizing, think again when you see the pictures included in Helen Le’s book: Five-Color Salad, Sweet-and-Sour Soup With Seaweed, Pineapple Fried Rice, and on and on. These lush, well-photographed dishes will entice you to run down to the market and start assembling ingredients. ~Backlot lover

I am enjoying Vegan Vietnamese. The pictures are beautiful and the recipes are well laid out. Some of the ingredients may need a specialty store or online order. I am always looking for a way to use tofu and there are really good recipes, spicy tofu, stir fried noodles, Japanese style savory and sweet tofu which was super easy and tasty. I’ve been pleased with the clear directions. ~Becky at the beach

This is a really incredible cookbook. Firstly, it stands out aesthetically – this is a really beautiful cookbook and is a joy to flip through. There are really nice full page photographs for pretty much every recipe. This makes it work equally well as a coffee table book in my opinion. This book is amazing for people who are trying to get into some new plant-based cuisines. It’s also fantastic for those familiar with Vietnamese cuisine who are looking for plant-based versions of their favorite dishes. ~Wesly Roberts
