Steamed baguette is the Southern Vietnamese "banh mi" speciality that has become quite rare and difficult to find, even in Southern Vietnam.

- 150 g jicama peeled, thinly sliced
- 75 g carrot peeled, thinly sliced
- 2 clove garlic minced
- 200 g beef cut against the grain, thinly slided
- stock powder,salt,pepper,sugar
- 2-3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 bagguette cut into one inch circle
- 1/2 onion julienned
- Fresh lettuce and herbs
- 5 scallion chopped
