Beef Steak With Wild Betel Leaves

If you are too familiar with western style steaks. Today i will introduce you a completely new recipe in a style that cannot be any closer to the taste of Vietnamese people. That is beef steak with Wild Betel Leaves. Can you believe it? Let's give it a try!
- Cuisine: Western influence
- Skill Level: Moderate
- 2 slices beef steak 2cm thick
- 50 g butter
- 3 pcs garlic crushed
- 5 wild betel leaves shredded
- salt
- pepper
- 200 g pineapple
- 5 tbsp anchovy sauce
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 pcs chilli
- 2 limes
- fine rice vermicelli
- Pat the meat dry with paper towel, and season both sides with a little salt and pepper.
- Add anchovy fish sauce, pineapple, garlic, and sugar to blend finely. Add lime juice, chili, and sugar to taste.
- Heat the pan to medium heat, add ½ tbsp oil and swirl the pan in a circular motion to spread the oil evenly.
- Place the steak in the pan for 3-4 minutes per side depending on the thickness of the meat.
- Add butter, crushed garlic, and the shredded wild betel leaves.
- When the butter is completely melted, use a spoon to pour the garlic butter over the meat repeatedly until it reaches the desired doneness.
- Place the meat on the plate, sprinkle with the crispy wild betel leaves on top.
