For those who can't stand it, durian smells horrible. But for those who love it, durian sticky rice is a must-try.
- Wash 2 cups of sticky rice and soak in water for at least 1 hours or better overnight.
- Drain well and add coconut powder, salt and a few drops durian extract. Toss well.
- Mix durian flesh with sugar and mash into a paste.
- Steam for 20-25 minutes
- Fluff the cooked sticky rice with chopstick and add the durian paste. Steam for another 5 minutes. Transfer to serving plate. Garnish with ome roasted sesame and shredded young coconut.
