- Cook: 60 mins
- Ready In: 2 hrs 30 mins
- Yield: 8 Servings
- Cuisine: Western influence
- Course Dessert
- Skill Level: Easy
Ingredients
- 250 g butter
- 90 g cacao powder
- 300 g sugar
- 225 g all-purpose flour
- 185 ml milk
- 4 eggs
- 1,5 tsp baking powder
- 140 g coconut flakes
- 125 g cream
- 150 g dark chocolate
Instructions
- Firstly, crack the eggs in a bowl and beat up lightly. Then add the milk and mix well.
- In a larger mixing bowl, mix all the dry ingredients: the all-purpose flour, sugar, coconut flakes, cacao powder and baking powder. I prefer sifting all the ingredients to avoid the lumps.
- Then make a hole in the center, pour in the egg mixture and also the butter. You can also melt the butter in the microwave first so it can mix in faster.
Mix them until get a really shiny batter.
- Pour the batter into the cake pan lined with some parchment paper to avoid sticking. Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C / 320°F for 1 hour.
- Next, break up the chocolate and place in a bowl. Then place the bowl over a saucepan of water (make sure the bottom of the bowl doesn't touch the the water).
Add in the cream and bring the saucepan of water to a boil. Stir occasionally to help the chocolate melt.
- Let it cool down a little and then we can spread the chocolate ganache all over the cake. Sprinkle some cacao powder over it.
