Recipe: Red Cabbage Salad - Gỏi bắp cải tím

  • Cut a red cabbage into really thin strips. You will have 3 cups of shredded red cabbage.
  • Dry-fry 10 prawns in a hot pan without any oil until the prawns turn orange. Peel the prawns, cut in half lengthwise and remove the black lines.
  • Make the salad dressing: Mix together 2 tbsp sugar, 2 tbsp fish sauce, 2 tbsp lime juice. Stir well. Also add some minced garlic and chili.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix the shrimps with 1 tbsp of salad dressing and some pepper.
  • Then add the shredded red cabbage and drizzle moree dressing to your taste. Give it a good toss. Add some of your favourite herbs like Vietnamese mints or round mints.
  • Garnish with some crushed roasted peanuts. Yummy.
