How to get a copy?
Growing up in Danang, Vietnam, I didn’t come from a family with culinary background. But as a child, my sister and I played imaginative cooking games, creating our first bowl of “bún bò” in our makeshift outdoor kitchen.
While pursuing a marketing career path and living abroad, my passion for cooking persisted. In Germany, during a challenging time, I started sharing my recipes on “Helen’s Recipes” YouTube Channel. The positive feedback inspired me to consistently produce cooking videos.
Believing in the potential of Vietnamese cuisine, I returned to Danang and continued creating content for my channel. Simply Pho is a reflection of my journey, featuring over 75 Vietnamese recipes with a focus on noodles. The cookbook showcases the beauty of my hometown, with stunning photographs capturing my shopping, eating, and cooking experiences.
I’m dedicated to sharing Vietnamese cuisine with the world, and I believe that it’s the next big wave in international food. Through my recipes and stories, I hope to inspire others to discover the flavors and traditions of Vietnam.

What readers say:
Beautifully done cookbook. It is so reminiscent of Martha Stewart’s “Great Food Fast” which is another of my favorite cookbooks. The photographs and layout are so nicely done and the recipes are concise and easy to follow. Many tips are given regarding the various dishes. I just can’t say enough about the quality of this book and recipes. I have watched this young author for years on her Youtube channel and make my soup stock the “asian” way of bringing meat to the boil for several minutes and then rinsing the scum off of the meat and returning it to a clean pot and water for simmering. This makes for a very clear broth. The author and this book are delightful. You won’t go wrong if you want to learn to cook some very tasty VietNamese dishes. Good luck Helen! And thanks!
I love Helen’s YouTube channel and am delighted that the book is written as approachably as her videos. I am a very mediocre cook, but following her instructions is simple, and I’ve gotten some pretty decent results.
Most detailed manual about Pho I have ever read. Not just “another instant cooking manual which tell you what to put in and when”, the book brings you insights of what is in Pho, what happens to these components once you process them and how these changes may impact the whole flavor. This bible helps you become more critical and provide you with the proper tools to better feel and find your path towards a perfect broth, tender meat and silky noodles, without forgetting different local variations of dishes and other creative versions of Pho. Ready to enrich your life and learn about the fundamentals of Pho? Read and make it once and I bet, for the rest of your life, you can feel the Pho scent from 10 meters away just by looking at the cover page.
PS: Thanks very much Helen, and good luck for all your future delicacies.
