Bông Lý Xào Bò - Stir Fry Tonkin Blossom With Beef

Tonkin Jasmine flowers with their fresh and sweet taste go well with tender beef. Let's try STIR FRY TONKIN BLOSSOM WITH BEEF for a popular side dish of a summer family meal.

  • Peel and finely chop shallot and garlic.
  • Remove the tough stems, rinse and drain tonkin blossoms, leave to drain.
  • Rinse and thinly slice the beef against the grain.
  • In a big bowl, season the beef with half of minced shallot and garlic, 1 tsp stock powder, salt, 1 tsp pepper, 1 tbsp oyster sauce and a bit of vegetable oil to help tenderize the meat.
  • Heat the wok until very hot, add 1 tbsp oil, add the minced garlic, shallot and fry until golden brown.
  • Add sliced beef and stir fry over high heat for 2 minutes, until the meat is tender, remove and transfer to a plate.
  • In the same pan, add another 1 tbsp oil and toss in the tonkin jasmine Add 1 tsp stock powder and toss well
  • Return the beef and toss well over high heat to combine beef with tonkin blossoms, then turn off the heat. Plating and garnish with some coriander and ground pepper.
